Fitzgerald wants to put the entire White House in jail... He is not playing hardball with anyone, he is playing hard time... Years in federal prison. He is sick and tired of playing patsy games with the likes of Rover and Scoots, he has them both nailed. If he is not sitting on a stack of suppressed indictments I will eat my underwear... Dirty underwear. Word on the street is he picked up the arrest warrant for Scooter and possibly an extension of the Grand Jury after a one hour visit meeting with Judge Hogan.
Word is also that he is moving in on Cheney this evening. Scoots apparently wants out of his prison sentance. Fitzgerald wants all the fish, especially the big fish... Even if it means draining the whole damned pond. I am telling you, he is a bad ass prosecutor (ask ex-Gov. George Ryan, R-Illinois)... And he is dealing with a nest of criminals... The Bush administration is dirty.
He wants two things...
1) These guys he is indicting, he wants them to do real time in prison.
2) He knows if he does not get evidence on Bush, Bush will simply pardon all his criminal pals and all Fitzgerald's work is for naught. It's not a game for Fitzgerald. He has a deaf ear for politics and spin. He is a first class criminal prosecutor, and he has a major hard-on for putting heavies and assholes in prison. He will deal, but you have to give up something.
He saved Karl Rove for last. Everybody knows Rove is in trouble. Rove is in serious trouble, many counts, and many years in federal prison. He has been letting dear Karl sit on the sidelines, watching his co-conspirators rack up felony after felony in front of the Grand Jury... He wants Karl to feel a wet squirm in pants.
Fitzgerald will deal with Rove for Bush. If Fitzgerald can make a solid impeachment case against the President, the President cannot issue pardons once the impeachment process has started. All the White House staff are counting on pardons for their get-out-of-jail-free cards. It's just a game for them... But with a President that cannot issue pardons, Fitzgerald sees that he will actually have accomplished something... The indictments he has worked hard for, will actually stick in terms of consequences. Besides, it get's a corrupt adminstration completely out of the White House and out of power. Fitzgerald hates corrupt politicans, he eats them for a living... Remember the only game he is playing is called "felony prison time".
Fitzgerald meets with Rove this week... Rove may go down for the President, but faced with the heavy load of felony charges, he may deal. You can be assured the Grand Jury is just as sick of Rove as Fitzgerald is. This forth visit to the Grand Jury will not be a pleasant experience for the President's right hand man... Fitzgerald has been preparing these screws for some time... He wants Bush castrated, unable to pardon away the criminal indictments Fitzgerald really worked hard for.
If Rove does not deal for Bush... Cheney might. And Scoots is a two-faced worm, he does not want to spend his retirement in a federal prison... Scoots may deal if he has any evidence to give on Bush. My guess is by now he is singing like a dirty bird on both of them.
One way or another... Fitzgerald has been working these angles for some time now... He knows he needs a clear case for impeachment against Bush in order to see the rest of the viper nest do prison time. I doubt you will see a single indictment in public until Fitzgerald can feel comfortable that Bush cannot pardon them away with a shake of the pen.
The only pen Fitzgerald wants these people to experience is spelled: penitentiary
After this is all over, and done with... Will you still feel justified in defending their policy, their program, their direction for the country? Perjury, outing CIA assets, illegal war, manufacturing evidence, scare tactics, strong arming and oppressing opponents with slander, obstruction of justice... They have used terror as a means to gain and maintain this control... Suspended geneva convention, distanced our allies, and completely ignored the UN while using the Security Council seat to avoid sanction.
These people have done everything in their power to take complete control of the country, and the press (there is no more "liberal main stream press" nobody has been following and reporting on this). Where is the accountablity? Judy Miller and her editors at the NY Times are in this knee deep, is this what you call a "liberal press"? Every reporter named in this case is tainted.
And they all made tons and tons of money doing it... Halliburton?? Oil deals? I would not be at all surprised if they were also involved in kickback schemes and racketeering.
I think Fitzgerald will have some of these guys doing the "perp" walk in handcuffs with a Federal Marshall on each arm in front of the cameras. This part is just a guess, but it would serve them right.
Ya, this is going to take a little time to work out, but things are moving fast now. It's history in the making.
Don't feel too bad... I went thru something like what you are experiencing when Nixon went down... I felt shocked, cheated, betrayed, angry... Get over these people. Give them up. They are not worth loyalty, they are not worth defending, they are not worth following. Give them up.
I saw the truth a long time ago, but I don't fault anybody for not seeing thru the lies and the propaganda, it was a well run illusion... But when the cover is pulled away, like in the Wizard of Oz, and it turns out only to be a very little man hiding behind a velvet curtain... I would hope you could call a spade a spade.
Then, don't ever let another corrupt political machine fool you again.
